Macon — Bibb County grand jurors indicted two Macon men Tuesday in separate cases on allegations they raped young girls.

Javon Causey, 22, is charged with two counts each of rape, aggravated child molestation and statutory rape stemming from allegations he engaged in sex acts with a 12-year-old girl and forced her to have sex between July 1, 2016, and Aug. 31, 2016.

In another case, 21-year-old William Ross Vanderburg Jr. is charged with rape, two counts of child molestation and two counts of aggravated child molestation stemming from allegations he had sex with a 6-year-old girl and performed other sex acts in 2016 and 2017.

An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.

Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
