Macon — Bibb County grand jurors indicted a Macon man Tuesday on allegations he burglarized multiple local businesses between Jan. 26 and Aug. 19, 2017.

Bennie Willis III, 39, is charged with 14 counts of burglary in the second degree relating to break-ins at six Macon Family Dollar stores, the Dairy Queen on Log Cabin Drive, a Dollar Tree on Brookhaven Road and a Dollar General, Sanglo’s Dry Cleaning and Nu-Way Weiners on Bloomfield Road, according to his indictment.

An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.

Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
