Dozens of students from around the County participated in the Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful (KMBB) Why Clean Streets Matter Essay and Art Contest. On Friday, April 29, KMBB leaders announced the winners.

Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th participated in the art portion of the contest where they drew and colored the importance of clean streets. Those in 6th through 12th grades wrote essays about why clean streets matter.

“We are so proud every student who participated. It was a tough task for our judges since there were so many wonderful submissions,” said Janice Habersham, KMBB Commission Education Director.

“Our students and scholars are definitely our future, so we want to continue to plant the seed in them that clean streets matter so our community can continue to grow and continue to strive,” said Asha Ellen, KMBB Executive Director.
