Get everything you need to know about weather and emergencies in the palm of your hand with the newly launched MBCAlert App. Our Emergency Management Agency (EMA) created the smartphone app to provide disaster and emergency information for everyone in Macon-Bibb, whether you live here or just visiting.

“Communicating with the public is one of the most important aspects of emergency management,” says Spencer Hawkins, EMA Director. “The development and release of the MBCAlert smartphone app adds another layer of clear and timely messaging to our other communication tools.”

The app allows you to not only check the weather, river & lake levels, but prepare for disasters & hazards, and also allows you to notify your friends or family when you go out on a walk alone or want someone to know your location for safety reasons. Like the MBCAlert notification system, this app will also send you push notifications for any weather or emergency alert.

“This app along with the MBCAlert notification system and the NOAA Weather radios provides our community with accurate, easily understandable information before, during, and after a disaster,” says Hawkins. “This app also provides information on current weather conditions, how to prepare for disasters, and what disaster to prepare for, and so much more.”

You can download the free MBCAlert App on any smartphone or tablet by going to the app store. Click here to download on Google Play and click here to download on Apple.
