It’s the pinkest time of the year!: International Cherry Blossom Festival officially begins

The Pinkest Party on Earth is back at Carolyn Crayton Park. On Friday, March 18, Cherry Blossom staff and board members, along with County leaders held the traditional opening ceremony to kick off the celebrations. 

Through March 27, there will be many different activities and shows happening around the community to celebrate the Festival. To see the schedule and for tickets, click here.  

This year, the Festival has a new bag policy in place. Only clear bags, medical bags, and diaper bags are allowed at Carolyn Crayton Park. Click here to read the policies and procedures.  

With these celebrations, comes street closures and traffic advisories. You can see which streets and roads will be affected on each day. 

Road Closures 

Mar 18th – Mar 20th,   2nd St (between Poplar St and Cherry St) closed for the Dog Dock Dive Competition 

Mar 19th,     Cherry St (between 2nd St and MLK Jr Blvd, a portion of MLK Jr Blvd from Cherry St to Mulberry St Lane) for the Bed Race/ Wiener Dog Race   

Mar 20th,  5th St, Cherry St (from 5th – 1st St), 1st St (from Cherry St – Mulberry St), portion of Mulberry St (from 1St St – MLK Jr BLVD), MLK Jr Blvd (from Poplar St – Walnut St) for the CBF Parade 

Mar 21st – Mar 25th, 3rd St ( from Cherry St – Mulberry St) daily from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. 

Mar 26th – Mar 27th,  Cherry St (from MLK – 3rd St), 3rd St (from Cherry St – Mulberry St), Mulberry St (from 2nd St – Broadway) for the Food Truck Frenzy and Arts & Crafts Festival
