Celebrate Earth Day with a fun and educational day at the park! The Macon-Bibb County Earth Day Celebration is happening at Amerson River Park (2551 Pierce Dr. N) this year on Saturday, April 20, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Activities will be held on the great lawn behind the playground area.

“We are so excited to again have a fun and educational Earth Day celebration for our entire community,” said Earth Day Committee Co-Chair Sam Kitchens. “Amerson River Park is an amazing location for this annual event because it really brings people close to nature, so we’re inviting your entire family to learn how we can all conserve and protect our planet for generations to come!”

The event is open to all ages and free to enter, although there will be food and drink for purchase. There will be live music, educational exhibitors with giveaways, kids zone activities, a wellness zone, a bicycle raffle, school nutrition displays, and more. Like in past years, once kids complete the activities and get their Earth Day passport stamped, they will get a free kid’s Earth Day t-shirt.

The event will happen rain or shine!
