On Monday, September 25, 2023 12 cadets, one from each Bibb County High School’s JROTC program, traveled to Washington, DC to tour the Pentagon and meet with leaders, including Brig. Gen. Terrence Adams.

Students traveled from a Macon-Bibb to Atlanta, then took a flight to Washington, DC with CTAE Director Dr. Cassandra Washington and District 2 Commissioner Paul Bronson. They were back by that evening. Commissioner Bronson says he wanted to bridge the gap between opportunity and resources for our students.

“I am true believer that if you hold a position that can enhance the lives of our youth, then we should use it for their betterment. Having fostered good relationships in both the White House and Pentagon, we were able to accomplish so many first for our students and faculty,” he continued.

Lunch was sponsored by the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Urban CEO Director Pastor Dominque Johnson, which was served in the Pentagon Library Conference Center.

“We hope that events like this would encourage more young people to enroll in JROTC and get involved in their local community,” said Commissioner Bronson. “Giving the students the opportunity to meet with Pentagon staff will open doors for future internships, job opportunity and educational success.”
