Macon – Bibb County grand jurors met Tuesday and returned indictments in four Macon murder cases and 14 other cases.
An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.
Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
Indictments returned include:
- Keith Beddingfield Jr., 25, of Gray, is charged with malice murder, felony murder and armed robbery in the Feb. 4, 2018, fatal shooting of Javaris Brown, 33, on Carling Avenue.
- Kristy Nicoishen Buckner, 24, of Macon, is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the Feb. 10, 2018, death of 47-year-old Precell Brooks Jr. Edwin Jamaal Williams, 28, of Macon, is charged with aggravated assault stemming from allegations he choked Buckner. An indictment alleges Buckner shot at Williams, forcing him to run a traffic light and to collide with Brooks’ vehicle at the intersection of Williamson Road and Bloomfield Drive, causing Brooks’ death.
- Jace Tyler Jenkins, 21, of Macon, is charged with malice murder, felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the Oct. 31, 2017, fatal shooting of Stewart Leslie Gordon, 38, on Burton Avenue.
- Kevon Lamar Watkins, 16, of Macon, is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the Feb. 2, 2018, strangulation death of 20-year-old Alexus Watkins on Westmont Road.
