Macon – Bibb County jurors found a Macon man guilty of aggravated child molestation Thursday after a four-day trial in Bibb County Superior Court.
Jason Muneer Tatum, 39, was sentenced to life in prison. He won’t be eligible for parole until he has served at least 30 years.
Prosecutor Dorothy Hull presented evidence during the trial showing:
In 2011, Tatum blindfolded a then-6-year-old girl to play a taste-testing game. He placed different foods in her mouth, asking her to identify them. The game turned sexual when Tatum began putting peanut butter and honey on his penis, placing it in the girl’s mouth as part of the game.
The girl didn’t disclose what had happened until 2014. An arrest warrant was issued for Tatum as part of a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigation.
Speaking after the sentencing, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke said, “Mr. Tatum abused a position of trust with his sick game. Today’s life sentence ensures he’ll never play that game with a child again.”
