Macon — Bibb County grand jurors indicted a Lizella man Tuesday on allegations stemming from an alleged threat made during a complaint to the Macon Water Authority on Oct. 5, 2017.
Joseph May, 72, is accused of alluding to the recent Las Vegas massacre during the call and saying, “I ought to just go out there and shoot the darn b******, all the d*** post office, that’s what I ought to do just like they did in Vegas,” according to his indictment.
An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.
Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
